Nick Centra - Centra Family Chiropractic | Co-Chair
My name is Dr. Nick Centra and I am owner of Centra Family Chiropractic in Janesville. I have been practicing in Janesville since 2016 and have been a member of Join Janesville since 2019.
JOIN Janesville is a great community of people and the events are both engaging and insightful each month!
Being a member of JOIN has opened up many windows of opportunity for me as a business owner, and I have met some great young professionals in the area.
Shane Griffith - Weed Man | Co-Chair
My name is Shane Griffith, and I am the COO of Weed Man. I opened my first Weed Man franchise at the age of 25 in the Chicagoland suburbs and later started Weed Man of Janesville in 2018.
When I moved to Janesville, I didn’t know anyone! I was introduced to JOIN Janesville at the Forward Janesville Golf Outing and saw it as an opportunity to build relationships that make Rock County feel like home.
JOIN continues to grow its membership and provide opportunities to socialize, promote businesses, and foster connections. I got involved to ensure that others who move to this area find a thriving community where they can plant their roots right here in Janesville.
Jake Smith - Baker Tilly | Secretary/Treasurer
My name is Jake Smith, and I am a Senior Manager at Baker Tilly. After college, my wife and I moved to Janesville, where we now raise our two children. Since moving back to the area, I have been amazed by the constant growth in things to do in the area and the sense of community. Projects and events like the Woodman’s Center, Music at the Marv, Flannel Fest, and many more, give the Janesville community a lot to be excited about.
What excites me most about JOIN is the opportunity to connect with other young professionals who are likely in the early stages of building their careers or starting their businesses. My JOIN membership has really helped me to jump out of my comfort zone and network. To me, JOIN provides an opportunity to strengthen our community, gain leadership skills, and build a strong network. Growing up in Rock County and choosing to have a career and raise my family here has definitely reinforced the importance of “community."
Jennifer McCarthy - Baker Tilly | Past Chair
My name is Jennifer McCarthy. I am a Managing Director at Baker Tilly, and I have been a Janesville resident since 1997.
Since moving to Janesville, I have enjoyed watching Janesville go through an exciting period of growth and revitalization. I saw this first hand in my role as a Forward Janesville Ambassador, so when JOIN Janesville began in 2018 I knew that it would be a beneficial organization that I wanted to be part of.
Janesville has a GREAT foundation, and I have a passion for helping other young professionals build on that foundation by meeting new people, growing their leadership skills, and enhancing their knowledge of the community.
